Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine may open in Provo in 2021

Daily Herald 2017

Above is a link to a 2017 Daily Herald story.  It is August 2018 and Daddy just figured
out there might be a medical school in Provo.

I may have posted this before. . . .but just in case.

The Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine will open in 2021, Wasatch Educational announced Tuesday.
“The presence of a medical school here in Utah, another one, will impact the entire western United States and it will be another solution to the shortage of physicians that has already been identified,” said Richard Nielsen, the vice president of Wasatch Educational.
An architect hasn’t yet been hired for the project but Wasatch Educational has already begun the search for the school’s founding dean.
The school is named after the Ray and Tye Noorda Foundation, which has put $50 million toward the project.
A few sites in Utah County have been considered for the school, with the preferred location located on 24 acres of the northwestern part of the East Bay Golf Course, pending approval from the Provo Municipal Council. The school is also looking to use the southwestern wedge of the course at least 15 years from now. The proposal includes relocating the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions next to the medical school in 2024.
If the Provo proposal is approved, a groundbreaking will take place in the March of 2019 and the project will be completed in January of 2021, at which point the school will begin receiving student applications.

Linda Hales and Danny's baby

This was posted on my birthday.  The baby is a boy and I think was born in May.
Linda is on oxygen 24 hours a day.  I think she has been better the last two weeks.

The latest on Jeff

Jeff Ivie had an appointment on Friday with a doctor.  Remember Jeff is type 1 Diabetic,
and probably doesn't keep his insulin levels regulated, while smoking E Cigarettes.

Jeff spent Friday throwing up all day and didn't go to his doctor appointment.

In Jeff's defense, I have been so sick in my life I knew I should go to the
Dr. but I was too sick so I just stayed home.

But throwing up for a diabetic is really bad for your electrolytes and
you should find someone to take you to the doctor.

Jeff's wife Jill picked up Jeff's kids from Janice and Jill about 5:00 p.m.

Jeff's wife has more than an RN degree and works full time for IHC.
Somehow she was able to help Jeff get through the night without
throwing up.

Janice and Jill celebrated by going to Wendover to gamble on Saturday
and I  haven't heard anything since Saturday morning.

President Trump's best wishes to all those celebrating Pioneer Day

While this may have happened in the past, I don't remember it.
Look at the best wishes, not only extended to Utah who is the
only state with a state holiday on July 24, Pioneer Day, but to
ALL THOSE celebrating Pioneer Day.

Mormons all over the US celebrate this day.  I wonder who helped
Trump write these best wishes.

Melania and I send our best wishes to all those celebrating Pioneer Day.
On this day in 1847, Brigham Young and the first group of Latter-day Saint pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley to begin building a new home for their families. Fleeing persecution, these families undertook a difficult journey spanning more than a thousand miles from Illinois to the Utah territory. In the years that followed, nearly 70,000 men, women, and children charted similar paths across windswept plains and rugged mountains in search of religious freedom and a better way of life.
Our Nation honors the ingenuity, industry, and unwavering commitment to faith of all those who endured frontier hardships. These pioneers worked tirelessly to transform the arid desert landscape into a blossoming new home where their families could live in peace and prosperity.
The legacy they helped build across the American West lives on through hundreds of cities and towns that continue to thrive in the 21st century.Today, we remember the extraordinary pioneers who uprooted their lives and undertook an incredible leap of faith into the unknown. Their stories and accomplishments are lasting reminders of the importance of religious freedom and the enduring strength and spirit of the American people.

They say this is a White House Photo.  Don't blame me.
There aren't any good photos of Trump in Google Images.

Susan at Work

Susan had to work on the machine she is standing in front of today.  She is
over quality or production or something and frequently has to work on
the production floor.

Unfortunately, this machine broke before the end of the day. . . . .I wonder if they will get it fixed tonight.

Janice's Ivie's soap opera continues

I really need a better log to keep track of the disasters
at the Ivie house.

Jill had some kind of tube surgically stuck in her nose to eyes
by an EYE doctor, (Dr. Cook) maybe a Opthamologist during the
month of July.  I don't know the exact date.  The tube
they put in was supposed to be permanent, but it fell
out.

So Jill had the same procedure done again on July 18.
Janice had to take off work to take care of Jill and Jeff's
kids.

Today is July 23 and I think the tube is still in.  Jeff's wife
is not working tomorrow July 24th, which is a state holiday
in Utah, so Janice doesn't have to tend kids tomorrow.

As July 24th is a holiday Janice has the day off.

Charles Melvin Patten Killed in Battle with the American Expeditionary Forces at the age of 23.

I found this posted on Facebook by my cousin's husband.   He was born 23 December 1895
and died 22 July 1918 at the age of 23.  This was posted on the
day he died, July 22.   Karen and Fred's
section begins with We are celebrating.
I always called him Melvin and he is my Uncle  and uncle to all of William Patten's children too. He is named after his father Charles Henry Patten. We put flowers on his grave in Payson every Memorial Day.
"We are celebrating the life of one of America's Heroes in World War I. This is Karen's Uncle, Charles Melvin Patten, who died from shell fragments in the French Theater July 22, 1918. His remains were returned to his home in Payson, Utah, three years later. He his now buried in the Payson City Cemetery close to his Father and Mother. Melvin was the oldest of Karen's Grandfather's 17 children. Melvin was born in Dublan, Mexico. In April of 1917 he enlisted into the army in Boise, Idaho. His memory will be honored and his sacrifice revered. Thinking of you Private Charles Melvin Patten Thank you for your service and sacrifice."

Riley is a Deacon

Riley was ordained a deacon today.  I wasn't there so I don't know if he passed
the Sacrament today or not.

New Jeff Ivie post

Jeff is still home.  He had a procedure done in the American Fork hospital
that made him feel a lot better. They can do the same thing in surgical procedure
but he has to wait two weeks to have the surgery.

Anyway Jeff is feeling lots better for the first time in several months,
and plans to have the surgery when he can.

Jeff Ivie is back in the hospital in American fork

It has been SIX days since Jeff was in the hospital the last time.

Symptoms the same, vomiting and unable to stop.

I am posting this because even Janice can't remember how many
times Jeff has been in the hospital.

There has got to be something seriously wrong for this continuous,
nonstop vomiting.  Wonder why they can't figure it out.

Janice and I are guessing this is the fourth or fifth hospitalization
for Jeff in about two months.

He is generally in the hospital a week before they can stop the
vomiting.  Over the fourth of July, I think he was in
seven days total.

Janice gets to keep Jeff's kids 24 hours a day until he gets out of the
hospital.

Instead of a new post, I am updating this one.  Jeff was only in the
hospital over night, except it was Late in the day when he went
home on the 11.

TODAY IS JULY 12.  Jeff left the hospital last night.  His kids went
home to his house for the night.  Janice and Jill will babysit them
again tomorrow.  But at least Jeff is out of the hospital and his kids
got to sleep in their Bed last night.

For some reason I have been unable to get on this blog

I was using Safari browser on my computer and Adam has been using
Google Chrome.

All of a sudden, one day Safari wouldn't work.  It has taken major
adjustment for me to switch to Google Chrome and at first I couldn't
get into the blog.

Now today all of a sudden I accessed this blog from Google Chrome.

Note:  All of the posts since May 30 have been done today and then
edited the date to put them in order.

Riley is 12!

In case you missed it, Riley's birthday is on Sunday this year.  The Pittsburgh Burdetts
went out to eat on Saturday.  Riley is still waiting for his cake.

However, in case you forgot, Riley can be a Deacon and pass the Sacrament.

Jeff Ivie was in the hospital again for about a week over the 4th of July

I am posting this because I can't keep track of all of Jeff's hospital
stays.

I think this is about four times in about two months.

He was in the hospital for about a week.  The main problem is throwing up.

Jeff does smoke E cigarettes and drink alcohol, which Janice is blaming
for his problems.  He is also diabetic, using insulin.

But Jeff does appear to have MAJOR stomach issues.
