Ellie is trying to decide if this car is better- after all it is much quieter because Jacob hasn't
 adjusted the mufflers yet.

 Trevor is still a student at Lakeridge Jr. High.  In Orem, Alpine school district 9th grades are in Junior High.  Phil picks up Trevor at Lakeridge Jr. High to drive him to Mountain View to PE so he can run track and get the training with the high school students.

Official royal wedding list, seating plan released

LONDON – The full list of confirmed guests and the seating plan for the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton were released by the British monarchy Saturday.
Many of the 1,900 invitees had already been mentioned in the media weeks ago, including soccer star David Beckham and his wife Victoria, musician Elton John and director Guy Ritchie. But others, like soul singer Joss Stone and Mr. Bean actor Rowan Atkinson — a close friend of William's father Prince Charles — were new.
St. James's Palace also confirmed for the first time that Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa will be attending, despite British concerns about the treatment of activists there.
Bahrain's royal family ordered a wide-ranging brutal crackdown against pro-democracy demonstrators that started in mid-February. At least 30 people have died, including four in custody, and many well-known activists and lawyers have been imprisoned.
About 40 other foreign royals from countries including Denmark, Norway, Spain, Thailand and Morocco will be in attendance.
Other guests include British government and defense officials, British soldiers who fought in Afghanistan and people who work for William's charities.
Palace officials said that only crowned heads of states are traditionally invited to royal weddings, and that political leaders who are not from the 54-member Commonwealth of nations, such as President Barack Obama or French President Nicolas Sarkozy, weren't sent invitations.
The seating plan for the April 29 ceremony at Westminster Abbey revealed the select few who will witness the ceremony up close. About 1,000 people will sit in the section of the abbey where views of the altar are restricted.
Queen Elizabeth II and other royal family members will sit in the front row across the aisle from the Middleton family. They will be closest to the abbey's sanctuary, where William and his bride will stand.
The Middletons will sit with the couple's friends and Princess Diana's Spencer family.

LDS MIssionaries Sang National Anthem at Jazz-Spurs Game

The San Antonio LDS Missionaries sang the National Anthem for the Spurs-Jazz game in the AT & T Center in San Antonio  on April 9. 

Of course their performance and rehearsal before they sang are now available on You Tube.

Big payday for Bristol Palin

(CNN) - Sarah Palin isn't the only member of the famous Alaska family that's raked in serious amounts of cash.

Daughter Bristol Palin made serious cash from the Candie's Foundation- a group that promotes abstinence to teenagers, according to a 2009 tax return from the group first posted by the blog Palingates and reported by several media organizations.
So what's the going rate for an abstinence promoter these days?

Apparently $262,000, according to the tax returns.
The younger Palin, then 18, was made an ambassador to the group in 2009 – months after giving birth to son Trip. She is no longer seeing Trip's father, Levi Johnston. Her work included giving speeches before teenagers, as well as appearing on television shows and in advertisements to raise awareness about the issue.
"I am so happy to have this opportunity to work with The Candie's Foundation on spreading the message of teen pregnancy prevention," Palin said when she was named to the position in May of 2009. "
"I feel that I could be a living example of the consequences of teen pregnancy. If I can prevent even one girl from getting pregnant, I will feel a sense of accomplishment."
Palingates is run by a group that calls themselves "The Sarah Palin Watchdog Team."

Chayote

The chayote fruit is used in both raw and cooked forms. When cooked, chayote is usually handled like summer squash, it is generally lightly cooked to retain the crisp flavor. Raw chayote may be added to salads or salsas, and it is often marinated with lemon or lime juice. It can also be eaten straight, although the bland flavour makes this a dubious endeavor. Whether raw or cooked, chayote is a good source of amino acids and vitamin C.

Jacob gets a fruit basket from Bountiful Fruit Baskets.  You have to order it on Monday at noon exactly or they run out and then pick it up on SATURDAY morning at 7:00 a.m. sharp.

This week Jacob got chayote in his fruit basket.  It is pear shaped and they were individually wrapped in the basket, which is the first time ever anything in the basket was individually wrapped.

 The pale green wrinkled fruit, chayote (chi-OH-tay), has a shape similar to avocado, firm texture, moist flesh, and a taste like a cross between cucumber and apple. Look for it September through May; prepare and serve it similar to summer squash. This refreshing salad can be prepared in 30 minutes or less.

ingredients

• 3 medium chayotes, peeled, seeded, and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
• 1 cup canned garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
• 1/4 cup lemon juice
• 1/4 cup olive oil or salad oil
• 1/4 cup water
• 1 tablespoon snipped fresh basil or 1 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
• 1/2 teaspoon sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/4 cup sliced pitted ripe olives
• 6 lettuce leaves
• 2 tablespoons chopped red onion
• 2 medium tomatoes, cut into wedges

directions

1. In a medium saucepan cook chayotes, covered, in a small amount of boiling salted water for 5 to 6 minutes or until tender; drain. Rinse with cold water to stop cooking; drain well. Transfer to a medium mixing bowl; add garbanzo beans.
2. For marinade, in a screw-top jar combine lemon juice, olive oil or salad oil, water, basil, sugar, salt, and garlic. Cover and shake well. Pour marinade over chayote mixture, stirring to coat well. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 3 to 24 hours, stirring occasionally.
3. To serve, drain chayote mixture, reserving marinade. Stir in olives. Spoon chayote mixture onto 6 lettuce-lined plates. Top each serving with chopped red onion and tomato wedges. Drizzle with some of the reserved marinade. Makes 6 side-dish servings.
