Tuesday October 28- Anthony finished the first Phase of Chemotherapy.

Anthony starts MAINTENANCE chemo in about 2 weeks.
This is less than the expected amount of time it would take
to finish the first phase of chemotherapy.  Adam and Mary
didn't think Anthony would start maintenance until December.

They have an amount of drugs given in the first phase and
Anthony has had all of those drugs.  Most children can't
get the amount of chemo Anthony has had in such a
short amount of  time.

Despite his many blood transfusions, Anthony hasn't missed
one chemo therapy session due to blood work which is
what usually happens to most children.  They have to wait 3-5 days
for their blood work to reach levels where they can get
more chemo.

Anthony got one blood transfusion on Friday and still
met the blood work on Monday to have chemo on
Tuesday.

YEAH, the first phase is FINALLY over.

V Chocolates coming to University Mall in Orem and they are hiring

Adam made Noah and I go with him into the
University Mall in Orem on Tuesday.

V Chocolates is remodeling the
candy store by customer service in the mall
and they have hiring signs on the glass windows.

Nathan and I went through the entire Fashion Place Mall about 6 months
ago looking for V Chocolates there.  We didn't find them.  I think
Nathan tried to assure me they were closed or out of business.

I love V Chocolates English Toffee!

River has 6 Puppies.

River was in labor when Nathan got home from work yesterday at 4:30 p.m.  She
delivered the last puppy about 10:00 p.m.

There are 3 white ones, 2 black ones, and one brown one that is the same
color as River.  The white ones have brown spots and look like her
last puppies.

I think there are only 2 boys, one white one and one dark one.
The brown one is a girl.

I don't have any pictures yet.

Craig flew into Pittsburgh on Sunday and out on Monday and ran into this trying to get there and leave

Yahoo news  Video

Craig's flight had to circle the airport before landing in Chicago due
Air  Force  One landing Sunday, and
then on Monday his flight was ready to take off and had to leave the tarmac
so President Obama's flight could depart first.

It made his arrival time in Portland completely off schedule.  Isn't there a closer airport to
Maryland than Chicago?  Maybe the president also stopped in Chicago.

"Obama makes rare campaign trail appearance, people leave early"
UPPER MARLBORO Md. (Reuters) - President Barack Obama made a rare appearance on the campaign trail on Sunday with a rally to support the Democratic candidate for governor in Maryland, but early departures of crowd members while he spoke underscored his continuing unpopularity.
With approval levels hovering around record lows, Obama has spent most of his campaign-related efforts this year raising money for struggling Democrats, who risk losing control of the U.S. Senate in the Nov. 4 midterm election.
Most candidates from his party have been wary of appearing with him during their election races because of his sagging popularity.
Not so Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown of Maryland, who is running for governor, and Governor Pat Quinn of Illinois, who is running for re-election. Obama plans to appear at an event for Quinn later in the evening.
"You've got to vote," Obama repeated over and over at a rally for Brown in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, near Washington.

McDonald's quarterly profit falls 30 percent

McDonalds has been a  fixture in my life for what seems forever.  This is the first time I noticed this significant of a deficit in McDonald’s profits.  Burger King has frequently been in the news, and changed their menu often.  Maybe I just  Missed McDonald’s in the past.
Does this mean people are finally eating smarter???

(Reuters) - McDonald's Corp reported a 30 percent fall in quarterly profit, hurt by a food scandal in China and intense competition in the United States.
The company's net income fell to $1.07 billion, or $1.09 per share, in the third quarter ended Sept. 30 from $1.52 billion, or $1.52 per share, a year earlier.
Total revenue at the world's largest restaurant chain fell 4.6 percent to $6.99 billion.
Global sales at restaurants open at least 13 months were down 3.3 percent.  Analysts on average had expected global same-restaurant sales to fall by 3 percent, according to research firm Consensus Metrix.

Pam died Yesterday, October 20 and her funeral is October 27.

According to Facebook, Pam was still in the hospital on Oct. 13.  She came home from the hospital
in an ambulance after that and was under the care of Hospice.

"They" told Jenifer, Pam could go on for six months, so in the end, Pam only suffered
a few days after she left the hospital.

Pam is bleeding Internally.

Jenifer has posted on Facebook, that Pam is at the Emergency Room with
kidney failure and internal bleeding.

She says Pam doesn't want to be admitted to the hospital.

I called Dan and Pam called him earlier this morning.  He said she is
really sick.  Probably more sick than she was in March in Washington.

Pam thought Guy was going to California tonight.

I make six figures playing video games-- Can somebody teach me how to do this?

Money.CNN.com

What do LeBron James, Peyton Manning and Choi Seong-Hun have in common? People pay them a lot of money to play games.

Seong-Hun, or "Polt" as he's known on the battlefield, is a professional video game player. He is currently one of the best Starcraft II players in the world, ranked number four in the game's global standings.

And life as a celebrity among the Terran, Protoss and Zerg races is lucrative. For his work on the fictional planets of the Koprulu sector, Seong-Hun makes at least six figures a year in Earth dollars.
"People think we just play video games... [but] the game I'm playing right now is real-time strategy," Seong-Hun says. "I have to counter strategy to my opponent's. It's similar to rock, paper, scissors -- if I keep playing rocks again and again, I will lose every game."
Polt (a name chosen based on a favorite character from childhood) has made a career in the rising industry of E-Sports. As video game tournaments gain popularity, events have come to resemble professional athletic events: spectators fill theaters, even stadiums, to watch gamers duke it out live in the virtual world.

It's a growing business. The number of video game competitions have increased from about 9,000 in 2011 to roughly 47,500 this year, according to Battlefy, a gaming statistics tracker. Competitions range from small, intercollegiate tournaments to this month's League of Legends world championship, which will be held in Seoul's 60,000-seat World Cup Stadium.

Beyond that, there's the huge audience such events garner online: more than 71 million people watch -- that's watch, not play -- video games online or on TV, according to SuperData Research. Last year's League of Legends championship had a combined viewership of 32 million, compared to 26 million TV viewers for the NBA Finals.
Like professional athletes, the highest echelons of gamers are becoming bona fide stars -- complete with sponsors and devoted fan bases.
In Polt's case, his standing has not only landed him endorsements, but remarkably, a P-1A U.S. visa -- the kind typically reserved for professional athletes in sports like baseball.
He practices his craft six to eight hours a day for which he is paid a salary. So win or lose, gaming earns him a steady stream of income.
"In terms of money, it's really good," Polt says.
Like NASCAR, his very presence has become a marketing opportunity. He plays as CMStormPolt, short for Cooler Master, a company that makes equipment for gamers like keyboards and headsets.
While there is a sizable fan base for Starcraft II in the United States, none of the game's champions are American. Polt's U.S. visa has made him the closest thing to a U.S. Starcraft player, earning the South Korean-born gamer the sobriquet, "Captain America."
Ironically, Polt was unfamiliar with the character until he heard fans chanting it when he took the stage.
Now, he says, "Captain America is my favorite hero."
In late September, Polt played in front of a packed house in Washington, D.C., at the Red Bull Battle Grounds competition, an experience that feels somewhere between a rave and Broadway show. 1,200 people watched, boo-ing and cheering with every shot and the destruction of every base.
After a fatal mistake in one critical round, Polt took third place. Roughly seven hours of work netted him $6,000.
"It's not the best result for me, but...I feel pretty good right now," he said

He turned back around and walked into a line of fans, patiently waiting for autographs.

Anthony's blood work.

On Wednesday, Oct 1,  when Adam came home from work, he thought Anthony
had too many bruises.  He called Primary Children's Hospital.  It took
until Thursday Oct. 2,  to get an order for blood work.

The results came back that Anthony's blood levels had dropped and
he needed a blood transfusion.

When he got to Primary Children's Hospital Friday, his blood levels
had dropped significantly from the low levels they were at on
Thursday.

They are scheduled to do blood work on Monday with more
chemo on Tuesday.

My Oct. 2 colonoscopy.

On October 2, I had both a colonoscopy and an endoscopy.
(Joan Rivers died from her endoscopy on about September 10,
ok, complications from what they tried to do in the endoscopy
procedure)

I had FIVE polyps.  Four were found with the colonoscopy
and removed.  One was in the stomach and found with the
endoscopy.  Dr. Curt Bodily said that the one in the stomach
could not be removed in the endoscopy procedure because
it would bleed too much.

Based on Joan River's experience, that was probably a good
call.

The doctor biopsied the stomach polyp in two places and
sent all the others to the lab for diagnosis.  He thought the
stomach polyp looked OK.

Last, but not least they found Diverticulosis.  I haven't had time to
research this. . . . . . .(Mark says that it is common in "old" people)

Should know the results of the biopsies next week.

On an interesting note:  I have had five colonoscopies, but this is the
first one I was the first one of the day.  My appointment was 6:00 a.m.
and we were out of there in two hours and 10 minutes.

At any rate, they had the camera on and the screen turned on and I could
see what the camera was showing on the screen.  It was showing the
blankets on me.
