Susan got a new Job!

She is at the same company that makes dog food.

It is located in Springville where all the manufacturing places
are.  I can't find that I posted anything when she started.

She was in Customer Service which is a terrible place to
be.  There were only three or four including the boss,
and they frequently spent days in production on the floor,
lifting and moving heavy boxes and crates.

To make matters worse the company cannot meet the
order they have.

Susan is now in Quality Control, which won't have to
deal with the customers who want to know when they
will get their orders because Customer Service does that.

McKay is FOUR MONTHS OLD

This is Natalia's Facebook Post.  I think McKay was 4 months old yesterday

Four months! Mckay has advanced so much this month. He is so happy with the sweetest personality. He is going to daycare full time which Simon loves and the other kids adore him. He is fascinated with the baby in the mirror, discovered his toes, has an adorably shrill giggle, can growl like a dog, and (his most proud achievement) can pull his pacifier out and put it back in. He still loves the water and being held. Sadly, he has outgrown his bassinet but isn’t sleeping through the night, so he’s been crashing with momma and daddy. Maybe one day we can get a full night of sleep and finish a movie without pausing it ten times. #fourmonthsold #monthlymilestones #mckaydays

Air Quality in Utah worse than ever

The wildfires in the west are creating the longest, and worst
unhealthy air quality in Utah I can remember.

My chest hurts when I breathe, elsie's nose is running, and Noah says
he doesn't feel well.  Mark is coughing so hard he
almost chokes.

Maybe it will rain enough to stop some of the fires and
the air will be a little cleaner, although that is not predicted
in the forecasts.

The three-day air quality forecast anticipates orange or red air quality in several counties in Utah through Tuesday as smoke from wildfires blankets much of the state.
In Utah County, red air is in the forecast Monday and orange for Tuesday and Wednesday, while orange air is expected in Salt Lake, Davis and Weber counties Monday through Wednesday.
Red air quality is considered unhealthy for all persons while orange is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups, such as those with asthma or other breathing problems or the very young and very elderly.
Several wildfires burning in Utah and surrounding states are contributing to the air issues, including the Coal Hollow Fire in Spanish Fork Canyon.

Linda's Surgery on vocal Chords- This is posted the day of the surgery.

Linda went home the day after the surgery.
Linda lost her voice.  I am not sure of the cause, whether cancer,
was the cause or the chemo and radiation she has been having.

She had surgery to repair her vocal chords and it seemed
to work because her voice was back within36 hours of the surgery.

The top photo was the day of the surgery and the other one was the
next day.

That is a fairly big incision.  I had two surgeries on my neck where
they went in from the front.  The swelling was considerably worse
the second and third day, but they are claiming that is not the case
with Linda.

Elsie had a tip of a crayon up her nose

Saturday morning Adam left to hike up to Squaw Peak in Provo
Canyon about 7:00 a.m.

About 11:30 a.m. elsie went into Mary's room with a bloody
nose and Mary found the object in her nose.  (We couldn't
tell what it was until it came out)

Adam "rolled" his ankle about 1 1/2 miles from the bottom
of the mountain on the way down.  It took Adam considerable
more time to get to his car than normal.

When Adam got home and it became evident "we" couldn't
get the thing out of Elsie's nose, we got in the car to take her
to Insta Care of the Emergency Room.  Somebody decided it
would be better to go to the After Hours Doctor and I had
to go back in the house to call Adam's pediatrician to find out
which office was on call for after hours.

Simultaneous to our problems a big truck knocked down some
polls on center street in Orem and the telephone and power lines were
out at all of the University Valley Pediatricians in Provo
and Orem, and a bunch of places in Orem.

Finally, we drove to Adam's pediatrician on University
Avenue in Provo, hoping to find someone who could tell
us which office was on call.  Despite the fact the lines were
down, the receptionist was on the phone with someone.

The receptionist told us they were on call and the
doctor would be there in 30 minutes which turned out
to be an hour.

The doctor tried with THREE different instruments
to get it out while Mark and Adam held Elsie down
and the nurse held a light on her nose.  He couldn't get
it out, and said to let Elsie get up.

Adam sat in a chair and held her on his lap and they
tried to get her to tip her head back.  By this time Elsie
was familiar with the nose process and didn't tip her head,
but with a fourth kind of instrument and Elsie sitting up
the small piece of crayon came out.

Elsie spent the afternoon trying to put her finger in MY nose.

Craig, Elaine and Carly went to the Library of Congress, and the Air and Space Museum

Riley is at Scout Camp.  I haven't been there so I can't tell you more about the
photos.  They are NOT in Pittsburgh.

Mark Hales had gallbladder surgery today

Mark has been in pain for two days and was in the hospital since 7:00 a.m.
this morning.  They were supposed to operate about noon, but he didn't
leave his room until 4:00 p.m.

Tammy brought Linda to the hospital after they knew he was having
surgery.

Janice Ivie's saga keeps going.  Jill who babysits Jeff's kids was sick,
throwing up so Janice had to take the day off to tend Jeff's kids.  Then
they were texting, that Janice was supposed to call Linda.  Janice
took Jeff's two kids ages 5 and less than 3 to the hospital so Linda
wasn't alone.

Linda is having surgery on Tuesday at the University of Utah on
her voice box.  The cancer has destroyed her voice box and
she talks in a whisper that you can't hear even sitting right next to her.

My family went to Sizzler on Monday night and Linda looked better
than she has in a while.  Her hair was colored and styled.  She is still
on oxygen all the time.  Her weight was about right, not too heavy or
too skinny.

So, now Linda's surgery in Salt Lake is going to be three days
AFTER Mark's gallbladder surgery.
