Daddy had Surgery Yesterday May 3

Daddy had Laparoscopic gallbladder surgery  (cholecystectomy), at Alta View
Hospital in Salt Lake.  Daddy found a CT scan of his gallbladder in 1999,
17 years ago.  He was having symptoms, but they didn't find anything.

His gallbladder was NOT normal, and he had adhesions growing from
the stomach into the bladder.  They had to remove the adhesions before
they could remove the gallbladder.  The surgery took longer than expected
due to the adhesions.  The incision in the center is quite large and black
and blue.

We had to go to Salt Lake because the doctors in Provo/Orem said his gallbladder
was ok.  The surgeon said the test was abnormal because of the pain daddy
had.  He was referred by a gastroenterologist  again in Draper, who said he
should have his gallbladder removed because of the pain.  The gastroenterologist
said the gallbladder tests are only half accurate.  Neither of these doctors ordered more tests, blood work, CT scans or x-rays than Daddy had in Utah County.

It is a sad state of affairs that Daddy has been in so much pain for so long
and he only needed his gallbladder removed.

He is doing well and not taking the pain medication.  He is only taking
ibuprofen. 

We REALLY like the surgeon, but NOT the nurses at hospital so much.
Unfortunately, this surgeon only operates at this hospital.
