The past two years have seen a major boom in backyard gardens. A host of factors, including the economy, the locavore know-where-your-food-comes-from movement, and the White House garden, have made it trendy to grow your own fruits and vegetables.
So now what do you do with your tomatoes, squash, corn, peppers, cucumbers and other bumper crops of the season?
Send your favorite garden produce recipe to vphillips@desnews.com, or Valerie Phillips, food editor, Deseret News, 30 E. 100 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. The deadline is Sept. 1.
We'll pick five entries to receive a free cookbook publish as many submissions as possible in our Deseret News Food section.
In the case of duplicate entries (such as two people submitting similar zucchini bread or salsa recipes), we'll use the first submission.
